Oakville Bridal Shower

Happy Tuesday!

We've had a diverse collection of shoots over the last week (real estate, newborn baby lifestyle, headshots in our studio, actress headshots, and a 70th anniversary shoot. So we have lots to share over the next bit. If you can't find us, we're over at our photo studio, editing.) 

But we'll commence our sneak peeks today with Scarlett's bridal shower. I had the honour of heading out to Oakville on Saturday to document a bridal shower. Little did I know I'd be walking into a fairy wonderland of beauty at Yvonne's house. She and her daughters created a space so magical I want to go back every single weekend. (Ladies?!)

There were adorable details in every direction for this classy tea party bridal shower. And, the icing on the proverbial cake, was the floral crown station they'd created.  It was a space for each and every lady to make their own flower crown. (Insert all the heart eyes in the world here.)

I've been editing on them all afternoon, and I hope looking through these photos makes your Tuesday as happy and bright as it's made mine.

Congrats on your new marriage, Scarlett. (She got married the next day!)

Gardening Life in Brantford

We are resting as much as possible in these pre-kids days and loving every minute of this season. And by resting, I mean we're working, catching up with friends whom we haven't seen in awhile, and focusing on house projects. Lots of house projects, from painting to buying smoke detectors.

Our list is actually getting smaller, but the major project we have left for this winter/spring is our back yard.

When we moved in last July, we didn't have the capacity to work on our back yard, small as it is.

But we are motivated to clean it up this year, build a wee sitting area, and have lots of space to enjoy being outside. We dream of a hammock.

And a garden.

Growing a vegetable and herb garden is my #1 priority for this space, at least the half that gets sun.

As I have never grown a thing in my life, I am clearly underprepared. And I'm not the type that loves researching or watching YouTube videos. I want to be in my backyard with someone who already knows what they are doing and get my hands dirty as they instruct me in all the wisdom of gardening.

My aunt is a master gardener, and I've been trying to charm her into a trip up to the great Ontario. Maybe I'll receive some of her gardening prowess simply by sharing DNA? One can only hope. M, I hope you are reading this and feeling all the strings of your heart being tugged.

In the meantime, as we wait for my aunt to descend and the warm days to stay, we'll be planting some seeds indoors and singing to them daily.

Thanks to the Grimsby Grows Seed Library at the Grimsby Public Library, we have a few packets of heirloom vegetables, ready to plant.

Heirloom seeds from the Grimsby Grows Seed Library. We got cilantro, peppers, squash (I don't even like squash, but I'm a gardener now, so I'll do it), tomatoes, and pumpkins.

As you can see, we are gathering our supplies on every front. We've also been researching the planting dates for Brantford so we can coordinate our life accordingly. Thanks, Old Farmer's Almanac. (Don't let this fool you, Auntie. I still need you.)
